Welcome to Summertime!

So last week was the first week of summer.  Has it been hot where you are?  I don't really like the hot weather.  My face gets all red, and Mommy sticks me in the stroller which I don't like as much as the Ergo.  However, last time Daddy put me in the Ergo it looked like my diaper was not effective so we won't be doing that again.  To keep cool we have been spending lots of time finding cool waters!

We went to the Sondheim Fountain one other time this year but I had an ear infection and was feeling lousy so this was the first time I got to have fun at it.  Bridger and I had so, so much fun!!

This is me and Mommy at the pool one day.  I do really like the water if you walk around with me on my belly.  I really want a floaty thing you sit in though.  Those look awesome and would also mean I get to do something all by myself like a big kid which is something I really want to do right now.

Speaking of being a big girl, here I am doing all kinds of big kid things like reading books, swinging, eating cupcakes and going to the Aquarium.

Bridger is busy being a superhero right now...maybe he will let me be his sidekick...right now I am just his kitty!
And finally here are the real big kids (aka Dada and MmmMa) at Meg and Nathaniel's wedding.  Yeah for them!!

We are headed on an airplane trip soon to Indy...my first time to go there.  It should be really fun, and hopefully I will get my first taste of Ritter's Frozen Custard!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

My Daddy is a great Daddy and we got to celebrate him on Father's Day.  We went to Virginia to see Grandma and GrandDad so we go to celebrate with both awesome Dads.  We had lots of yummy food over the weekend and made a special trip to the Virginia Living Museum to see the dinosaurs.

Here we are seeing the dinosaurs!!  Don't be afraid this T-rex doesn't bite...I think!!!...I don't think Larsen agrees.

Oh there werealligators also.  They came up really close to the glass like they were going to eat Larsen for a snack.  Poor Larsen she thought she was going to be eaten the whole time.  That's why I held her hand while we walked around outside...so nothing could eat her. :)

We played baseball some at their house.  GrandDad has some fun videos of me hitting the baseball, but he also had fun teaching Larsen about it too.

We enjoyed some gift time with the two Dads.  We got Daddy a blog book.  Grandpa and Grandma got Daddy this great shirt.

Hope you are having a super fun summer.  We have been having tons of fun and enjoying lots of water time.  Stay tuned for some pictures of our summertime fun!!!

P.S.  I almost forgot that I stayed at Grandma and GrandDad's all by myself after Mommy, Daddy, and Larsen left.  I was going to stay for FOUR weekends, but we decided 4 days was enough.  We went to Busch Gardens for three days in a row.  I LOVED the splash park and the roller coaster at Busch Gardens.  I put my hands up and screamed on the roller coaster.  It was super fun!!

Memorial Day Memories

It has been a quick almost a month since Memorial Day weekend.  We had a blast on this unofficial start to summer weekend and it was a nice break before some crazy work weeks.  The kids enjoyed celebrating all things fun and summer!

We started the weekend at the Pilkingtons and enjoyed a lot of backyard time and some really good eats.

Bridger and Tommy got plenty hot playing outside, but only Bridger felt the need to take his shirt off.  Being a "sweater" it seems is genetic.

The big boys also enjoyed some fun times outside and a little light-hearted competition.

The little girls would not sit still long enough for any sort of picture, and the big girls...well they are hardly in photos anyway!

Next stop was the Annapolis for the 2nd annual Memorial Day picnic.  Last year we had only one munchkin running through the sprinklers and Larsen got passed from person to person, but this year she was is on the action.

Larsen loves dogs so she had lots of fun playing with, feeding, and bothering MacKenzie.

Our final bit of Memorial Day madness was a pool date up on the deck.  We may not have a yard, but we are trying to make the best of it.  Also Baltimore does look rather lovely via panoramic rooftop deck view.

More summer updates to come as we have lots of fun plans!

Transit of Venus!

Did you know that today is the Transit of Venus.  Venus is a planet and it is crossing the sun today.  We went to the Science Center to watch it.  I was so excited I ran across the street and into the doors.  We took an elevator up to the 4th floor and got out on the roof.

We had to put on special glasses so the sun would not hurt our eyes.  It has been cloudy today so we thought we might not be able to see it but we did.  The sun burned up all the clouds for just a little bit and we saw it perfectly.

We could also look through the stethoscope to see it too!  They also had these huge screens where you could see it from Hawaii.

I also made a bracelet out of beads that turn colors because of UV light and then turn white when they aren't in the sun.

This won't happen again until I am more than 100 years old.  I hope you saw it because it was so exciting.

Larsen didn't know what was going on but she had fun sitting on Daddy and eating the paper sun that they gave to us.

Don't forget that Jupiter is the biggest planet, but it was so fun to see the Transit of Venus!
