Picnics in January

Can you believe that??

It is the last day of January and it was not cold outside at all! We had lots of fun outside today.

Before we went outside we made some yummy oatmeal raisin cookies while Larsen was sleeping. Did you know that I am the best cookie and muffin maker? You should taste everything I make. It is delicious. Larsen loved my cookies and ate a whole cookie all by herself. The recipe for these cookies comes from my Nana's mom. She must have loved cookies lots and lots because she is the best cookie recipe maker.

After Larsen got up and we had our cookie snack we went to the castle park. I rode my bike super fast to the castle park. I even got sweaty because it was so warm outside and I was biking so fast. Mommy had to run to keep up with me.

When we were at the park I had fun running around and playing ice cream shop on one of the big things they have there. I also had fun teaching Larsen how to love sliding. I am a very good teacher because she loves to slide now!

You can see how much fun she is having in all of these pictures.

We came home from the park and then had lunch (and another cookie...shh don't tell Daddy!) After nap we had a picnic on the deck for snack and took a walk to mail some letters. Daddy came home after all of that and he and I made dinner while Mommy went on a run to get some exercise. We made "dinner pancakes." They have spinach in them. I only ate them because I could dip them in ketchup but Larsen ate lots and lots.

It was so fun to have warm weather in January. Tomorrow is February and it might get a little cold then. That is ok because I need to be used to the cold weather for when I take an airplane to Park City and go to ski school in February!

P.S. I almost forgot to tell you that I live in Baltimore now. I used to say "bumpermore" but just this week I suddenly started saying Baltimore just as clear as can be. I am getting so big now!

Dino Days (Daze?)

Happy MLK weekend! We are enjoying the extra day off and though we did do a lot of lazing around this weekend. Matt finally caught the DeCamp family plague and Larsen is still under the weather so we tried to lay low. However, by Monday we needed to get out of the house and do a few things. Bridger and I made the cookie dough for mint snowtops while Larsen was napping (well sort of napping...not much sleeping going on for that girl today!).

Bridger loved tasting the melted chocolate...wouldn't you!

It has to chill so once Larsen was up we went to the Maryland Science Center. Bridger loves the dinosaurs there but it was pretty crowded so we didn't get to dig for dinosaur bones which is usually his favorite thing. Team Kids wore their dinosaur jammies last night to commemorate the day's planned outing.

He managed to have fun despite this disappointment. Larsen just hung out in the Ergo so she didn't get new germs or bless anyone else with her virus. We came home took some naps (well I went to the gym...got to get in some sort of shape for our upcoming ski trip) and then we finished up the cookies. Bridger absolutely loved rolling the dough balls in powdered sugar. He has no shortage of pride about his work. He told me at least three times. "Mommy I am doing a great job at rolling." He also really loved the fact that then he got to have half of a cookie before dinner.

Larsen supervised our efforts while eating some MumMums. It looks like she is saying..."what you are letting Bridger eat a cookie and not me??"

This evening Larsen seemed to be feeling better and actually had an appetite for dinner. However, she didn't have an appetite for sleep. We attempted to put them to bed together, but after nearly an hour of her chatter and Bridger emerging to let us know he hit his head on his crib (note he sleeps in a bed) in the middle of the night we took her out. She was totally wired and showed off her prewalking skills in the basement before finally giving in and going to sleep nearly two hours past her bedtime. Now it is our bedtime!

Nine Months!

Guess who turned 9 months old last Friday?

Of course it was me...I keep growing and changing and doing new things!

I have been sick so Mommy waited until I was feeling a bit better to take pictures of me at this new month. Do you love my pants? I do, and so does Mommy. They are so fantastic, but I keep trying to get those cute birds into my hand and they just don't come off. Today I stayed home with Mommy and Bridger and we went to the library and then we had to go back to the doctor. I got a rash from my antibiotics for my ear infection. Mommy thought it probably wasn't a big deal, but she tries (and Daddy really would prefer it) to be just my mommy and not my doctor. The doctor said the same thing Mommy thought. It is just a silly old amoxicillin rash that is much ado about nothing and hopefully will go away soon so my cheeks don't look like they are on fire like they did tonight before I went to bed.

Speaking of sleeping I am still a night time party animal. I slept from 6:45pm-5:45am without waking last week when I was really sick, but otherwise I like a little snack once or twice a night. I am going to bed around 6:30pm still and wake up between 6-7am. I still end up in the basement a lot in the middle of the night so I can get some extra sleep in the AM because my brother likes to get up EARLY! I still love him to pieces though. He is my favorite thing to laugh at, look at, and generally be around (well unless I haven't seen Mommy in awhile then I really want to see her too.) Don't worry I still love Daddy. I have special sweet smiles for him and woke up from nap today and gave him a sweet hug that he really liked so I should probably do that again.

I am loving this standing thing as you can tell. I have started cruising. I used to get down and crawl to the next spot to stand up at the coffee table, but in just the past few days Mommy has seen me cruise over to where I want to go. Also I have let go a couple times and can stand by myself for a few seconds. Nobody thinks I'll be walking super soon, but it probably won't be 3 months from now. Place your bets on when I will officially join the upright humans!

I also love eating. My favorite foods besides milk are bananas, bell peppers, pancakes, pears, and apples. I do like puffs, peas, and carrots a lot too. I am still eating whatever everyone else is eating and I still will not let you feed me. No way Jose!

I am also still meddling and getting into my brother's stuff and I now have a sense of justice. I get mad if Bridger or anyone else, for that matter, takes a toy away from me. I have also started doing more babbling and love to have little yelling contests back and forth. I even start them, usually on the changing table after nap. I go AHH! and then I hope someone responds. I don't have any words really, but I often go mmm, mmm around Mommy and Ba,Ba,Ba around Bridger so I may be staring to try and form the right sounds.

That's all for me right now. I am going to try and not get any more ear infections or rashes or sicknesses for that matter. That might be hard but a girl can try as it is more fun to be well. Oh I almost forgot...I weighed 20lbs 5oz and measured 28.5inches long at my 9 month check last week. I am solidly 75th percentile all around...well except for my cheeks...they are still off the charts!

Raspberries to you and your friends....

Happy New Year!

Welcome to 2012! We spent the weekend celebrating the New Year with the Pilkingtons in Potomac, MD and the Chistolinis in Arlington, VA. Bridger had such a great time playing at both of their houses. We were up late, though we didn't make it to midnight on New Year's Eve. We were so busy chasing after all the kids and eating yummy food to take a picture at either of the events. Despite all the fun we had it was a bit of bad timing. The kids definitely had colds and were doing ok, but I think too little sleep and exposure to more kids caused the first DeCamp plague of 2012. We are all sick, though Matt is doing the best of all us. It is super challenging trying to be a mom while the kids are sick. I feel terrible and don't have the energy to keep up with less energetic Bridger! Fortunately everyone seems to be doing a bit better. Larsen, poor thing, has bilateral ear infections, but after 4 doses of antibiotics she is on the mend. She was just wanting to be held yesterday. Bridger is no longer having fevers, but we still have lots of secretions going on. Unfortunately I do need to get back to work so we will give it a go with a 2 day work week this week. I am sure we would all love one more day at home, but I think things are good enough. It was a crummy end to what otherwise was a great staycation. I LOVED having two weeks with the kids doing a whole lot of nothing! It is tempting to never go back, but alas we do need to pay the bills and make use of all those degrees.

A few pics of our fun despite the illness. All the Christmas gifts are strewn about the basement but the children are enjoying their favorite new toy...the box that contained the diapers and toilet paper delivered by our friends at Amazon.

Cheers!
