Party like it is June 2011!

This past weekend was a whirlwind of festivities. Three parties plus Fiesta Latina at Patterson Park made it a really fun and chaotic weekend. Bridger has certainly got parties figured out and enjoys at least the dessert aspect of each one!

The party weekend kicked off with Bridger's school picnic on Friday. It was at Latrobe Park in Locust Point. It is a very nice (ie clean) little park with a good playground, picnic shelter, and greenspace. There was not much eating as Bridger is too busy to eat at these things and we always end up feeding him dinner when we get home, because as he puts it-"Mommy I starving again." Someday he will eat too much at these things-like the rest of us. The big thrill at the picnic was a pony ride. Bridger has been really wanting to ride a pony ever since we saw them in Colonial Williamsburg. He was not afraid at all and had a great time on his pony ride.

On Saturday we took a walk to Fells Point to see their market and grab a snack. Bridger biked the whole way there and back. We are so impressed with his Strider skills. He is even starting to lift both feet up and put them on the footpads. We also had the surprise 50th birthday party for our pastor. We missed the singing which disappointed Bridger, but he still managed to find some yummy desserts. I didn't have a chance to take any pictures, but imagine quite a few kids running around while the older folks at church try to do something nice. Somehow on Saturday Bridger ended up with naked buns on the fire engine. Not sure how that happened! In a video not fit for blogging as it is from the front he is very concerned about his lack of hat. Interesting since his lack of clothes might be seen as a problem for others.

On Sunday morning Bridger's dreamgirl had her 3rd birthday party which was an "art party". Bridger is not the biggest art fun but did his best to try to convince Guiliana that he was totally into it.

Sunday evening we went to Fiesta Latina for some dinner. We listened to some fun music and ate tacos and pupusas. Bridger actually liked the pupusas, though still requested dinner when we got home. He was so distracted by the bubbles and other kids only a few bites were had. He also had more than a few sips of orange soda. That was included with the taco deal and he "needed" soda to help him bike home. Little does he know it will be a very long time before orange soda is on the menu again.

You might be wondering where Larsen is in all of this. She comes along for the ride all the time. Often it is a sweaty ride as she is in the Ergo or Moby. She goes right to sleep and usually misses the fun, but was up some after the fiesta so a snapped a few pics of her in her festive it's almost the 4th of July outfit.

Larsen also tried out the Bumbo this weekend. She isn't quite ready, but we had some fun watching her funny faces. Bridger as you might expect had to try out the Bumbo too!

Happy Father's Day!

This past weekend I helped Daddy celebrate his first Father's Day with two kids. While we did a lot of fun things, I think the best part was when I giggled for Daddy right before bed. That was the first time I did that, and I did it just for him. I bet he thinks that part of Father's Day was very special. We made Daddy pesto pasta for dinner and his gift from us was a new backpack. Can you believe he has had his other backpack for 11 years? He is a little sad to give it up but Mommy says it is time! We also got him a card just from the kids. It was a race car card and silly Bridger thinks it is his. That's because he loves race cars. Also, Grandma and GrandDad came to visit us this week and arrived on Father's Day so it was great to see them too. We did a few fun things like go to the aquarium (I think that the aquarium is a great place for a long nap) and I smiled for them a lot. It is very fun to see them make silly faces so that I will smile at them. Everyone really likes that I am smiling more and more. If you leave the room and come back I smile at you. Just to say thank you for coming to see cute little me!

While we are not traveling or celebrating we spend a lot of time just hanging out at home. Mommy is trying to teach me how to sleep in my crib during the day. I don't really like that, but she is very persistent. Also sometimes we go see some friends and play. Last week Bridger and Tommy had a blast at the pool!

Nails and Noodles

Summer is here in full force. We have already had some days where it feels like well over 100. That has limited some of our park fun, but we are going back to some of our rainy day activities that are always a hit. Bridger loves play-dough, puzzles, and playing any sort of catch/basketball/baseball. Fortunately we have a lot of soft ball-like objects around so we can do that in our rather narrow row house. On one of the super hot days I asked Bridger if he wanted to do some finger-painting. I meant finger-painting on paper with paint. However, he got so excited that I was going to finally let him paint his nails. He has been dying to do it ever since I got a pedicure a few weeks ago to treat myself to some me time. Well we are keeping an open mind around here so I thought let's just do it. He selected "Time for Wine" (probably the only thing Daddy approved of about the whole thing.) He sat so patiently during the application and drying processes. (I really haven't seem him sit that long unless he is watching a video.) It was fun, because he was so excited and Daddy will get over arriving home one evening to see his little guy all done up.
It finally cooled off enough to venture out for a family night at the Sondheim Fountain. Bridger still has a blast in the water there and the evening was made even better by a) being able to show off his nails b) eat a hot dog and c) spend some extra time with a girl from his class that we think he has a big crush on (too bad she has really tall parents!)

Finally our last bit of fun in the last few weeks was a visit from Auntie Noodle! Bridger had a blast with Auntie Noodle and is was so fun for the two of us to catch up. Denise (aka Auntie Noodle) braved a road trip to Williamsburg to check up on the folks. She even was willing to share a room with the B and got up with him everyday before 6am (thanks so much!!!). It was wonderful family time and it was so great to see Bridger and Larsen spend some time with their Aunt. We would love her to come more often not only because she is such a huge help, but we really like her too! It could be that we go to her for a visit as a ski trip to Utah in the winter might be in the works. :)

Two Terrific Months!!

Yesterday was a big day I turned two months old! I had to go to my check-up yesterday so I did my two month photos today. The vaccines I got really wore me out and made me crabby so I wasn't up for photos. However, today I had recovered and had lots of fun playing with my big brother and seeing some of my favorite visitors (Brooke and Meg!). Here are the stats from my two month visit:
Weight-12lbs 11oz (Guess what I am bigger than my brother was a two months by about 5 ounces--Oink, Oink!)
Length: 23 inches
Head Circumference: 15 inches

Here is what else I am doing:
Eating: Well same old same old on the diet, just some milk. Obviously I still really like to eat and my mom appreciates that I am a speedy feeder. I just started to really look at her during feedings, that is very special to Mommy. I still don't love the bottle, but do tolerate it so Mommy and Daddy make me suffer through it a couple times a week.

Sleeping: That is actually the same old same old as well. I still am not doing long stretches at night. I am usually good for one about 3 hour stretch, but otherwise I am up after two hours and between 4-6am I usually fuss and grunt around. My parents have started putting me in my big girl crib early in the night and everyone sleeps a bit better there. I share a room with Bridger so later in the night I need to be back in Mommy and Daddy's room so I don't wake him up as big brother starting at 4am would be too much. I still don't have a particular bedtime, but am usually asleep around 10pm.

Other stuff: I am smiling and cooing more and more now which is apparently very entertaining to everybody. I love to look at toys and am enjoying some time on my playmat (the Giddy Up). I haven't done too much tummy time. My mommy tries to get some in but we have been busy and she hasn't been as good as she should. I don't mind it actually, but I don't really use it for its intended purpose. I am supposed to be learning to hold my head up, but I really like just laying there. Bridger keeps trying to do a dance and say sweet things though so maybe I will start looking at him soon and work on gaining some more neck control.

Look at what Me can do!

Howdy Partners! You will be hearing all about Little Miss Larsen when she is two months tomorrow so I thought I would let you know what I/me has been up to. (I am still learning when to use I and when to use me. I used to only say me but a few more I's are creeping in, sometimes when I am supposed to say me but I/me is getting there.) Yesterday it was sunny and not too hot so we went to the zoo here in Bumpermore. We have a membership or something like that. All I know is that Mommy says it was on sale so we got it, and I am happy it was on sale. We went a few weeks ago with the GranDeCamps and went to the Africa side. This time we went to the Maryland side with one small detour to Africa to see the monkeys (which are my favorite). I had fun petting the goats (while Mommy mumbled something or other about petting zoos and awful disease). I was still a little sad we didn't get to see all the Africa animals, but it was too much for one day especially since we rode the train that goes around part of the zoo. I love trains and play my Thomas track all the time! After seeing all the animals we had a nice picnic. A squirrel even ate part of my peanut butter sandwich. That was silly! I walked around a lot. Mommy and Daddy can't believe how much I walked around. I did ride in my Bob some for rests but I really preferred to do it ALL BY MYSELF. I tell you what I also can ride my bike super good. I have a bike without pedals. I got it for my birthday when I turned two in October (did I tell you I am obsessed with birthdays...I can't wait for my birthday in October!!!) I didn't enjoy riding it until a week or two ago when I went to Bike Jam at Patterson Park. Now I ride my bike everywhere...to the library, to the park, and even to Chipotle for dinner on Friday night. Here are some videos of me riding my bike...if I get even more super good I will get a bike with pedals. I can't wait for that. One more thing I love to do. I love to play soccer. I am pretty good at soccer and play with my Daddy in the little park by our house all the time. I sometimes forget and pick-up the ball with my hands but still watch out... World Cup here I come!!

A few pictures of us at the zoo!

Larsen loved looking at the sunlight coming through the trees during the picnic
