Our Summer Fun!

Whew! It has been a whirlwind around here. The big news is that we are moving out of the city for a bit more space and a yard in a little over a week. Our current house is starting become a huge mess as we try to pack up our life from the past three years into boxes. Also Matt and I started as faculty (finally) and that transition has been a bit more of a change and challenge than either of us expected. With all that change we still have been trying to fit in some fun. We'll start with our adventures in June.

Well...actually we'll start with a little Memorial Day fun. We had been looking for a house for about a month and were depressed that it looked like it was going to be a long time until something worked out so we went to Virginia to spend some time in the 'burbs and enjoy some Grandma and GrandDad time. We did a lot of enjoying the nice weather and playing in the neighborhood but did go strawberry picking one day. Perhaps the biggest victory of that trip was Bridger took off on the bike. He was riding around the neighborhood several times a day. It was an semi-official start to big kid times to see him cruising around. We didn't get a picture of that but here is some strawberry picking fun. They had a terrible year so the berries weren't actually that good, but they still made for delicious ice cream. (Which was eaten so fast I don't have a picture of it!)

Larsen was obsessed with having the strawberries go swimming!

On the way home we made a detour to Annapolis for the third Annual Walsh Memorial Day Picnic starring the Walsh's, Walunus' and DeCamp's. A good time was had by all and the kids enjoyed yet another dessert!

The big adventure in June was a camping trip. We went to Westmoreland State Park in Virginia. It was a great campground though the weather had been rainy and it rained one of the days we were there so fire making was a little difficult. We all had a fun time again and can't wait to go camping in the fall when we are settled in at our new place.

They had tons of activities for kids all weekend. We decided the can't miss was making ice cream. It did take a lot more shaking than we thought to get it right. Afterwards though the kids loved it!

They also had a pool which was tons of fun and had great views of the Potomac.

It took quite a lot of kindling gathering to get this fire started!

The only part of the s'mores Larsen ate was the chocolate. Fancy that!

We spent one whole morning at Fossil Beach. Turns our digging for shark teeth and other goodies is tons of fun even if it is raining.

Last but not least was Mr. DeCamp's 35th birthday. The kids made a masterpiece and we celebrated our favorite Daddy and Husband!
