A first time for everything!

It is really, really hot here!  I don't like it all.  I love to take walks around the block, and it has been so hot in the morning we haven't even done that the past few days.  It is supposed to cool off soon so maybe we will start up again.  When we take walks I love to look out for the bus and for dogs.  They are some of my favorite things.  So since it has been so hot we have been doing a lot of indoor things.  I love the aquarium and seeing the fish up close in Australia and Bridger loves to show me the sharks.  In the midst of all this hot weather we did something I have never ever done before and Bridger has never ever done before either.  We went to Chick-Fil-A and got a Kid's Meal and played at the indoor playground.  I loved the applesauce and so did Bridger.  We both ate a couple bits of the crispy chicken strip but we weren't so sure about it.
After we had lunch we played at the indoor playground.  This is a  super big deal because our Mommy doesn't like germs and she thinks these sorts of places are a haven for germs.  However, she made an exception due to our extreme weather event.
I made sure that Bridger didn't escape and loved seeing the flowers.  I also was super tired and a little fussy since I missed my morning nap as we had to go to Target for all things necessary and Bridger had to go to the dentist (yeah no cavities).
Anyway we are off to the Beach and then CA so hold onto your hat (and your bow) since we have a lot of adventures coming up.

P.S.  Just a little update on my 15 month stats.  I weigh 24lbs 5 oz and I am 30 inches long.  I am beginning my descent down the growth chart, but I am still a bigger than average girl for now.

15 months, 99, and a Trip to Indy

How much fun can you fit into one week??  It turns out quite a lot!  We spent much of the last week in Indianapolis celebrating all sorts of special events and having lots of summer fun.

Our trip to Indy started out with a celebration of Matt's birthday.  While he may be still on the south side of the 30s for one more year, Bridger decided he was turning 99.  If that is the case Daddy looks really good for 99.  Bridger helped decorate his cake and we all ate too much yummy steak off the grill.
Our first big event was to go to the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  It is HUGE.  We didn't see much of it at all.  Yes it is really big, but our kids (and really everyone else's) were enthralled with the Matchbox car exhibit.  You could race cars down all kind of cool tracks and even sit in life size Matchbox cars.  It was so fun!!

Don't worry we also saw some dinosaurs at the Children's Museum...no kid museum visit would be complete without some digging for dinosaur bones.

We continued the Matchbox car fun when we went to the Bush's house for a playdate and dinner.  Bridger loved that Carson had a deluxe Matchbox car set-up.

Bridger spent the night alone with the GranDeCamps while Matt and I enjoyed some couple time (since Larsen goes to bed so early!).  Too much wine, but a lot of laughs were had by all at the adult party.  At the kids and GranDeCamp party Chuck E Cheese was visited as was the pancake house bright and early in the AM.

Larsen enjoyed some sweet times with Carson (who pointed out very early on that it is easy to mix up their names.)

Larsen also showed the Bush's her wild woman side...yes this is blurry but this is 100% our little princess.

It was also so so hot while we were there.  We went to the YMCA pool three days in a row and became pros at the pool preparations (This means pool prep went from nearly an hour to 30 minutes.)  Bridger is becoming so brave in the water.  He is in desperate need of some swimming lessons but he did still manage to get up the courage to do lots of jumping in and putting his head under water.

Each day we swam for two kid swim times and during the break we ate a picnic lunch.  Then we all went home and took a nap!

Larsen is really getting into the pool too.  She is CRAZY in the water.  She justs keeps walking right up until the water is over her head and doesn't seem to be bothered by falling in.  Matt and I spent each day pulling her up from the water so she could actually breathe.

In addition to the pool we made sure to visit Ritter's Frozen Custard (twice!) to get our fill of that yummy stuff.  The kids agreed that it is about the best frozen treat on the planet.

Other than that we spend time enjoying some time at W. Edgewood...playing, golfing, sprinklering, reading, and of course eating!

Let's not forget Larsen's 15 month milestone.  She is becoming quite the toddler.  As per her normal she wants to do everything herself and now she is getting more vocal (insert screaming here) about getting her way.
She is a champion walker and is getting close to running.  She understands a lot and says a few things...DaDa, MaMa, BaBa(sometimes she says Bider), No, Nana (for Banana), Me, Bow(as in hair bow...all the cool girls wear them), WoofWoof, Bus, Eye, Hair, Hi, Bye-Bye, and Hat.  She signs more, please, and thank you.  The thank you sign is generally only used after you give her something she really shouldn't have but she threw such a fit about having you decide to give it to her for some peace and quiet.  Her newest favorite thing is to run around with her towel on her head after bath imitating Batman Bridger.  She can also be super sweet and leans in and purses her lips to give kisses.  That is about the sweetest thing ever and melts Daddy's heart every time she does it.

We have a quiet few weeks (well as quiet as it gets with two rowdy kids) until we head out to CA for some family fun!
