Happy 1st Birthday Larsen!

Happy Birthday Sweet Larsen!

It has been a busy few weeks, but we had a chance to celebrate Larsen's first birthday and Easter all in the same weekend with both sets of grandparents.  It was enough of a party with all eight of us that we didn't invite anyone else.  Larsen didn't seem to mind, and we loved our special little celebration.

We had stuffed shells for dinner since Larsen has really loved those.  Really she likes anything cheesy with noodles.  We had lamb cupcakes for our sweet little thing.  We saw the idea on a butter box and had lots of fun with our interpretation.  They might not have looked as perfect but they were masterpieces nonetheless!

Larsen received all kinds of fun presents.  Picnic baskets, musical instruments, purses, shoes, and all kinds of cute clothes and swimsuits.  She will certainly have no shortage of fun and cuteness coming up.  Our pictures are a little sparse in the family department.  Turns out even a small little party with family makes for big doings in the parent department so we didn't even get any pictures of the two cuties in their matching purple Easter outfits!

We made some time to dye eggs.  Bridger was intrigued by the fizzing and colors for a bit, but really seemed to like the stickers and the egg salad for dinner the best. However his three assistants (aka Daddy, Grandma, and GrandDad) seemed to approach this task with a lot of seriousness and dedication so our eggs looked quite fabulous!

We along with the rest of the greater Baltimore area spent Good Friday at the zoo.  That was Larsen's actually birthday.  She loved seeing the animals and was so excited about the penguins.  It was so fun to see her notice these other little creatures and get excited about them.  She also really liked the giraffe.  Little Miss Birthday did a lot of pointing and shrieking to let us know how much she was taking in on her big day.  Plus she loved being a big girl in the wagon!

Spring Randoms

Life around the DeCamp house is proceeding per normal. Lots of activity, more than a little mess and chaos, not so much sleeping, and two crazy fun kids. It is hard to say exactly what we have been up to as we are going about our non-routine routine but here's a bit of normal life around here during our unseasonably warm Spring.

Bridger loves to make sure his socks match his shirt. It was going to be warm one day last week, but it was still cool in the morning so it made perfect sense to him to pick out matching socks that were long so his legs would not get cold on his bike ride to school. Maybe he has a future as a bike messenger??

Last weekend there was an Easter Egg "Hunt" for local families. It got rained out so it was held indoors. Bridger has been practicing his "eastering" for weeks so he was super eggcited to go to an Easter Egg Hunt.

See how excited he is!

You might be able to tell that it isn't exactly a hunt..more like an Easter Egg pick-up. Bridger was the fastest to 10 eggs (the limit). They were filled with stickers so now his Easter Egg bucket is all decorated in time for the DeCamp family super sleuth egg hunt this weekend.

Mr. B met the Easter Bunny after doing some egg gathering

Yo it's Baltimore of course you fist bump the bunny!

Today we enjoyed some outside time for the 2nd sidewalk chalk day of 2012. We are trying to teach Larsen how to color instead of eat all writing implements(and toilet paper, and scraps of random dirt off the floor etc etc). We were variably successful today.

Eating the [non-toxic] chalk

Thinking about eating the chalk
Doing a little drawing
The master artist at work

Don't worry that is chalk all around Larsen's mouth!
Finally we still do a lot of eating around here...well at least sitting at the dinner table pretending like we are having a civilized family meal.

What do you mean civilized???
And finally....don't forget who is turning one in THREE DAYS!!!
