Larsen's Baptism

The weekend of Bridger's birthday we also celebrated Larsen's baptism. It was very special to have all four grandparent in town to celebrate both milestones in the lives of the DeCamp kids. Larsen was baptized on Bridger's actual birthday, and we had an open house for family and our friends at the house. It was a sweet ceremony as Larsen was baptized with another little girl, Lucy, who is just a few weeks older than her. Lucy's older brother is Bridger's age. The girls were so sweet and cute. While Pastor Paul talked about the significance of baptism the two of them chatted and smiled at each other. I am not sure anyone in the congregation was listening to the Pastor. I think they were all looking at the two cuties. As per tradition at our church after the ceremony the girls were held by the Pastor (one in each arm) and taken around the church for introductions while we sang "Jesus Loves Me." The two girls smiled the whole time and the two big brothers proudly sang the song for everyone to hear. It was a really busy weekend of celebrating, but in the end I am glad we marked such a special time for the two of them with some celebration. It seems too easy to let life's milestones march on by during these busy times, but I know we will treasure these memories!

We had a photo shoot later in the afternoon and our smiley girl kept on smiling!
For fun here is Bridger...he was 3 months older at the time.

And here is the sweet big brother now. Finally a shot of mom with one of the kids where I am not in my "grubbies"

Our family after the service (the kids were pretty hungry and tired by this point)
The whole gang now and at Bridger's baptism.

Halfway to One!

Mommy thinks it can't be possible but it's true. I am six months old. Well I was six months almost two weeks ago, but it has been busy around here with all the parties so Mommy just got around to having me to my post. Today it is an appropriate day to do it, since I just went for my six month check so I have my stats!

I am 18 pounds 5 oz which is around the 75th percentile.
I am at least 26 inches long, but probably longer. The medical assistant that measured me was super speedy and Mommy thinks she didn't get all of me (I am very squirmy!) My doctor says that MA usually measures short. In any case, my toes are busting through the 9 month footie PJs and fit comfortably in the 12 month which is a change so I am growing taller for sure! In general I am in 9-12 month clothes. Mommy feels like Bridger was just wearing some of these clothes! (Yes we share and share alike...what girl doesn't need carpenter jeans or a University of Michigan hoodie?) In case you were wondering my real doctor, as opposed to my doctor mommy, says that I am perfectly healthy.

I can do all kinds of new things since last month. I can sit tall all by myself and I hardly ever fall over. I do, however, topple over when I need to go get something. I flop onto my belly, do a little scootch, rock on all fours, do a little inchworm manuever and presto I am at whatever item I need to put in my mouth. I have been putting lots of Bridger's toys in my mouth, and he doesn't like it one bit! I think it is ok though since he wrestles me and roars at me so this is my way to be the pesky little sister. Speaking of roaring, I am now roaring all the time. Mommy thinks because Bridger roars at me all the time, I must think that is the way you communicate because instead of a sweet little baby babble I have this low roaring sound. Don't worry I'm still cute though.

I also learned how to blow raspberries this month, also I stick my tongue out, and I really get mad if you leave me all by myself when I want attention. I still do not really like food. I am doing a little better with the cereal, but I wasn't into sweet potatoes or green beans when Mommy tried them to see if it was maybe just the cereal. I do like to suck on a bell pepper though. I don't really eat it, just get a few little pieces now and then. Mommy craved bell peppers during her pregnancy, maybe that's because I like them a lot! Mostly I am content to maintain my cheeks on some Mama milk. I am doing much better drinking it out of the bottle, but I clearly do still really want it straight from the source. The last little bit about me is that I am overall sleeping a bit better. I am down to two wake-ups a night, last night I only got up once. I now go to bed in my crib and somewhere in the middle of the night I go down to the pack n' play in the basement. I won't sleep in Mommy and Daddy's room anymore. I just want to play if you bring me in there. I think they are the greatest, but they don't seem to think I am the greatest if I am ready to play at 3am.

What hasn't changed about me is that I love to smile, and I am so much fun to be around. I bring a lot of joy to the DeCamp house so says my parents and they are thankful for that!

Happy 3rd Birthday Bridger!

Did you know I just had my birthday??

Last weekend I turned 3 years old!

I have been very excited for a long, long time about my birthday. I had my party for my class at DuBurns Arena. That is a place where you can play soccer inside, and have your birthday party where you can eat pizza and cake. I had a monster birthday party, because I love monsters. My friends from school and from church came to my monster party. First we played on the soccer field with monster beach balls and then we had pizza and fruit and vegetables. After that everybody sang Happy Birthday to me and we had yummy cake. After my party I played for a little bit at Dypski Park. Some of my friends from my party came too! I really liked my birthday party, and all the great presents I got.

Now that I am three years old I can do lots of things. I still love to ride my Strider bike, and I am very good at balancing. Sometimes I go so fast down hills it is hard to stop before the street so my Daddy has to run super fast to catch me. I can jump really high, climb most things at the playground without help, and I even can do yoga. I showed Mommy and Daddy tree pose, shark pose, mountain pose, and mouse pose. I keep learning lots of things at school. I know some of my colors and numbers in Spanish and I know all the sounds of the letters in English. I even recognize some words by sight. I especially know my name, but I also know things like STOP, GO, MOMMY, DADDY, LARSEN, CRASH, and SHARK. I am going to be a shark for Halloween. Did you know that??

I went to my doctor last week, and I am 36.5 inches tall and I weight 29 pounds. I am the 25th percentile for my height and weight. I am growing so much bigger! I also know lots of songs and I remember the words sometimes better than Mommy and Daddy and I have to teach them. I still have fun going to school on Daddy's bike or on the bus with Mommy. I can get myself dressed by myself (if I am in the mood) and I still run supermans most nights. I have two eggs for breakfast most days and my favorite food is pasta, though I really do like cupcakes!

That's all I can remember about me right now. Hope you had fun reading all about me at 3 years old!
