It has been a bustling set of holidays around here and a great time was had by all. (or at least eaten by all). Bridger thoroughly enjoyed "Chrissy" and all the festivities that went with it. He was really into the "Chrissy" tree and loved seeing Baby Jesus in the barn. (It turns out manger in a hard concept, but Jesus being born in a barn that he could wrap his two-year old head around.) He was more interested in presents this year, but still was content to open a few and then play with his new toys. He has a whole new crop of toys which has left us searching for some acceptable toy storage solutions for our main room. We don't have a dedicated play room so somehow we have to take back the living room from Thomas, Legos, and play kitchen accessories. Bridger enjoyed all of the yummy food. He is a big fan of any pasta dish that involves cheese and bread so menus that included lasagna, stuffed shells, and special bread resulted in him eating more than we have seen in a while (he does need some meat on those bones!) W celebrated Christmas and New Year's at the Grandparents Ross house we made Stollen and that also turned out larger than life. It was so yummy. Bridger discovered candied cherries as part of Stollen making and ate quite a few. We did check and there are actual cherries in there and not just sugar. The Gran DeCamps came for Christmas and enjoyed Bridger sleeping in until 7:30am on Christmas morning. (Wait until next year...I am not sure there will be any sleeping in!) They also enjoyed another trip to the aquarium while I was working the day before Christmas eve. Bridger still LOVES the dolphin show and the Australia exhibit. We haven't been since the last time the Gran DeCamps were here in early November and he still gets so excited. They got a refresher on the "This Ocean Planet" video during the dolphin show and perhaps will be able to do their own rendition soon. The Gran DeCamps left the day after Christmas and we headed down to Virginia a few days later. There was still lots of snow on the ground from the big post-Christmas storm that dumped 11 inches on Williamsburg. Bridger got to try out his new skis (not a huge hit...it is probably a little scary the first time) and go sledding (a new fan favorite). Matt and I also enjoyed a night away at the same bed and breakfast where we stayed after our wedding. We had a fantastic dinner out and a nice walk through Colonial Williamsburg on a seasonably warm day. The Grandparents Ross survived their night alone with Bridger, and he seemed to have a great time. We got home in time to relax a little before a busy 2011 gets going tomorrow with my return to work. Happy New Year to all of you!
