Greetings From the King...

King Bridger that is. While the parental units have been busy working and getting our house in shape I have been spending some quality time with my 4 NICE grandparents. We have been out and about all over Baltimore and it has been so much fun. I wanted to show you some pictures of our adventures. Rumor has it I will be a busy B the next two weeks with trips to Ann Arbor and California. After that it will be back to old school Bridger and I will be spending my days with some cool kids. After my travels I will be going to a Montessori School in Fells Point while MAMA and DADDY WORK. I think I am going to learn a lot there. I will learn Spanish, Mandarin, and even have a yoga class sometimes. That seems like a lot of things to learn, but I'm game. I've got to be ready for anything with the parents I've got. Back to business though...here are the pictures.

First off did you know it is about one million degrees a lot of days here in Baltimore.
It has been miserable!

To cool off and to celebrate Grandma DeCamp's birthday we went to the aquarium. It was also NICE. I liked it a lot. I love TURTLES, SHARKS, and most of all I love the DOLPHINS when they SPLASH and touch the BALL with their NOSE.
In case you were wondering these are blue blubber jellies...but don't think they are cute. I learned jellyfish are making a MESS of the environment. (Well people are making a MESS and they are taking over and hurting all the FISH!)
I am really into sNACK and you must eat when I tell you...and sometimes you must eat what I tell you. I am the king you know.

A little fun with Grandma Ross on that Pirate Ship (well BOAT) and a little BOOK time with GrandDad. I love to READ. I love it so much we READ BOOKS aGAIN & aGAIN.

On Tuesdays Mommy & one Grandma take me to the Canton Library and we sing songs and READ with Miss Gloria. That is very fun. At the end of library time Miss Gloria gives out a craft. I really had fun making this FISH. Look at what I STUCK to the FISH with GLUE!
The GranDeCamps made the grocery store a whole lot more fun when they introduced me to the TRUCK on the shopping carts. I am a GOOD driver.

I also really liked going to the CHOO-CHOO train museum.
One time I rode on the CHOO-CHOO at the museum. Wait a minute they forgot my HAT!
Don't worry if you need a RIDE because I drive both CHOO-CHOOS and TRUCKS.

New City, New Blog

Welcome to our new blog!
We hope this finds all of you well and enjoying a fun summer. Our new adventure here in Baltimore began late June and we are finally getting around to letting everyone know what we have been up to. Matt took a great fellowship opportunity at Johns Hopkins and we decided to try out city life for awhile. Baltimore is supposedly an "easy" city to live in. All of the fun things to do, but not all of the hustle and bustle is the running theme from people we talk to. We still think there is a fair bit of hustle and bustle compared to Ann Arbor. We live in a neighborhood called Canton which is about 2 miles from the main downtown area and Inner Harbor. We live in a row house and have some interesting neighbors. (ie the walls are kind of thin!) We repay the late night parties by the three single guys next door with alarm clock Bridger which went off in the 5 o'clock hour for much of our first month here. We have found some fun parks, discovered the aquarium, and Bridger joined the summer reading program at the library. There really is always something to do and their are a lot of things to keep kids entertained. While all of that is fun, city life isn't always so rosy. As you might know Baltimore has a crime problem and isn't the safest. Our neighborhood is relatively safe but it it still unsettling to see all of the poverty and realize that bad things do happen and you have to be careful. That being said we are happy we are trying out the city and think that all of us will learn a lot from being here. Bridger is adjusting as well as any nearly two year old could. He is saying tons of new words and seeing his little mind work is amazing (his tantrums are not so amazing). Soon after moving here he figured out "Shoo pigeon" and that is what we were saying a lot since pigeons had taken up residence under our deck. That problem is much better, thank goodness!! He is also learning a lot of ocean words given our trips to the beach, aquarium, and the fact we live on the water. We do love our morning runs along the harbor. So far we have had the grandparents around to help us adjust and take care of Bridger since he doesn't start daycare until late August. It has been great to have the help and to see Bridger enjoy spending time with 4 people who love him to pieces.

We will try to keep you updated as we continue our adventures at our new home and throughout our travels.
Take care and we would love to have visitors!

Our house...we are the brown door in the middle. Our wild man "helping" with the unpacking.

We took a little break from the city to spend the weekend with Brooke and Ian (sorry no good pics of them but maybe later) at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. Bridger loved the beach...especially since he had a GIANT sandbox to play in.

Bridger's first time in any ocean.

After a little bit Bridger got really into splashing in the water.

One of our first weekends in the city we discovered the Sondheim fountain at the Inner Harbor. It isn't always working (that's the thing about Baltimore so far for us....often really neat things to do...not always reliable) but when it does there is water, music, and lots of little kids having fun.
